Where Is Irvine?

Irvine is a medium-sized city that is located in Southern California. A relatively new city founded in 1971, Irvine is a planned community and is well known for being the North American headquarters of many large multinational corporations, such as Samsung, Toshiba and Kia. It is also the home of many universities and colleges, including the University of California at Irvine. The city is not far from the Pacific Ocean, and it is also close to both Los Angeles and Anaheim. It is further well connected to the state’s highway system.

What Is There To Do in Irvine?

Irvine is home to the Irvine Spectrum Center, which is one of the most popular shopping malls in Southern California. The city is further home to Xtreme Adventures, which is a race track where visitors can drive some of the most exotic cars in the world. Another popular thing to do in Irvine is to visit the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary. Finally, there are many excellent museums in the city, such as the Pretend City Children’s Museum, the Irvine Museum and the Museum of Woman.

Irvine is also very close to Disneyland in Anaheim and to a large number of beaches, and it is also not far from all the many attractions in Los Angeles.

What County Is Irvine in?

Irvine is located in Orange County, which is the 3rd largest in the state, and it is only a short distance from the border of Los Angeles County. The seat of Orange County is Santa Ana, which is a city right next to Irvine. The county is considered part of California’s Tech Coast.

Irvine is itself a city, though it is home to dozens of unincorporated villages. These villages, which began developing in the 1980s, each have their own special architectural theme and they include:

There is further a commuter rail line called the Metrolink that goes from Irvine to Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles in a little over an hour. Amtrak also offers train service from Irvine to Los Angeles on its Pacific Surfliner in a little over an hour.

Irvine, and all of California is located in the Pacific Time Zone, which is 3 hours behind the Eastern Time Zone, two hours behind the Central Time Zone and an hour behind the Mountain Time Zone. It is further one hour ahead of the Alaska Time Zone and two hours ahead of the Hawaii Time Zone.

How Many People Live In Irvine?

According to the latest U.S. census that was taken in 2010, there are 212,375 people living in Irvine. In 2018, the Department of Finance in California estimated that the current population is 276,176.

There are a little more than 3,000 people per square mile in the city, and a little under 80,000 households. The median age in the city is just a little under 34, and there are 100 females for every 95 men. About 50% of residents are Caucasian and another 40% are Asian.

How Far Is Irvine From San Diego?

Irvine is only 85 miles from San Diego, which can be reached by car in a little over an hour. Interstate 5 directly connects the two cities. Amtrak also offers direct train service between the two cities on its Pacific Surfliner, which takes a little less than 2 hours. Finally, the two cities can be connected by taking a pair of Orange County buses.
