Questions to Ask Suppliers and Vendors
- MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). Some vendors will require you to purchase hundreds or thousands. Ask right away to make sure it’s in line with how much you can afford.
- Time-frame. Some vendors may be able to get you product right away; others might take months. Make sure you ask to get an idea of when you will get your supply.
- Shipping options. Some manufacturers require you to find shipping on your own, like a third-party shipper. See what options they provide, so you’re aware of your expenses and what you need to complete on your end.
- Reviews. Read reviews and make sure there aren’t any negative ones. You don’t ever want to get scammed. You should only pay a certain amount like (10-30%) to start and the rest after you receive the product or the product ships. Understand these terms by asking first.
- Prototype or sample. Order a prototype or sample first to make sure the product is up to your standards. Don’t be surprised that the sample will cost 3 to 4x as much as when you purchase the item in bulk.
