80% of businesses around the world use Google Ads to reach their business goals. That includes businesses large and small, B2B and B2C.

Today, though, we’re looking at enterprise businesses. Read on as we share seven success stories of large clients who leveraged Google Ads to achieve remarkable results, including their strategies, challenges, and outcomes.

1. Samsung

With a new Galaxy smartphone to promote, Samsung knew it needed a powerful advertising strategy to drive awareness and interest. Enter: Google Ads. In just five days, the company created more than 400 ad variations, all tailored to more than 300 audience segments they built using insights from Google Analytics.

Results:

  • Increased return on ad spend (ROAS) by over 2x

2. Rakuten

Cash back app Rakuten is so ubiquitous these days, it’s easy to forget that they used to be known as Ebates. The company can thank Google Ads for that. After 20 years, the company underwent a brand overhaul — and a name change — and used a multichannel strategy to spread the word via Search and YouTube Ads.

Results:

  • 4x increase in branded search
  • 197% decrease in cost per signup
  • 74% increase in conversions

3. Ikea

Furniture giant IKEA was looking to boost return on ad spend (ROAS) while driving more traffic to its 300+ stores around the globe. By grouping accounts by device (mobile vs. desktop) and segmenting audiences by geographic location, IKEA ensured that users within a specific distance from a physical store would be served with a compelling Search ad.

Results:

  • 38% lower cost per click
  • 232% increase in store visits
  • 117% increase in sales
  • 68% increase in ROAS

4. United Airlines

Travel is an industry where consumers like to browse and imagine a lot before they commit to a trip. To push them from consideration to conversion, United Airlines turned to Google Ads. The company created a 15-second aspirational video showing people in bucket-list vacation spots and utilized TrueView to drive viewers to their website to book a flight.

Results:

  • 17,000 flight bookings
  • 52% of conversions were direct click-throughs from the ad

5. Pringles

Google Ads can also be used to amplify advertising success on other platforms, as this case study from Pringles shows. In preparation for their Big Game spot, they ran 6-second bumper ads on YouTube to get their fans pumped up and generate demand.

Results:

  • 120 million impressions
  • 2:1 return on ad sales
  • 3% sales lift

6. Uber Eats

Food delivery app Uber Eats also wanted to increase viewership of their ads during the Big Game and throughout the football season. Their awareness campaign focused on a unified strategy that took advantage of multiple touchpoints through Programmatic Guaranteed, including display, video, audio, and connected TV (CTV). Plus, by relying on Google Ads Data Hub, they could determine which ad frequency was optimal, and at which point additional ad exposures led to diminishing returns — enabling them to maximize their spend.

Results:

  • 10% increase in campaign reach
  • 76 million users reached, 25% of which were CTV viewers
  • Saved the equivalent of 150% of platform fee due to eliminating unnecessary impressions

7. Best Buy

Sometimes, big brands want to use their platform to drive traffic and sales within their own website and those of their partner brands. This is especially true for major retailers like Best Buy. The electronics retailer used Google Ad Manager and their own first party data to deliver ads on BestBuy.com and offsite, driving increased sales through Display ads.

Results:

  • 45% increase in conversions among shoppers exposed to the campaign
  • 10x return on ad spend (ROAS) from shoppers exposed to the campaign
